The Lake of the Ozarks is truly a unique place, and on June 26th it played host to the biggest poker run the lake has ever seen. In just its third year, MidwestBoatParty.com’s Support Our Troops Poker Run has become the “must-not-miss” event of the summer.

The 2010 event hosted 112 boats and more than 400 people came from all over the country to help raise money for Operation Homefront. Operation Homefront takes care of our military heroes overseas and the families they leave behind. Also in attendance this year were 15 Wounded Warriors, (brave soldiers that have been injured in the line of duty) who were given the opportunity to get a ride in some of the most incredible boats in the country.

Looking out at the first flight and seeing the Nauti Marine Mystic, Saratoga Stampede, Bad Moon Risin, Performance Boat Brokerage MTI, Speed Racer, and many other incredible boats was truly impressive. However nothing could match the fly-by these drivers treated the spectators to as they flew past Shady Gators with two helicopters giving chase.

Following a day on the water, a barbeque dinner was served by Dog Days. They did an incredible job of hosting the poker runners in addition to their normal Saturday crowd. The participants had plenty of time to head to the card drawing table to see if lady luck had smiled on their poker hands, while enjoying live music from Dale Blue.
