FASTTRACT Texas Outlaw Challenge Clear lake, TX June 24-25, 2011

The 2011 FASTTRAC Texas Outlaw Challenge held June 24-25, 2011 in Clear Lake, TX., was once again a huge success, doubling in event participation with a final attendance of 85 boats and close to 1,000 participants representing six states.

The Thursday evening pre-party was hosted at the Lance’s Turtle Club on Clear Lake with an open bar and Texas barbecue-style dinner. It was great to see so many out-of-town performance boaters arriving early to start enjoying the local waterfront activities in the Clear Lake region.

On Friday afternoon, the event kicked into full force and began with the official Stampede Street Party where poker runners could register and stage their boats at the hosting Endeavour Marina On Clear Lake for the exciting “Circle the Wagons” party.

Guest were welcomed at Sam’s Boat restaurant (the hosting watering hole) with exciting entertainment that included Texas-style cowboy enactments such as black powder gun quick-draw shoot-outs, stage coach robbery displays, and saloon girl “business transactions.” The main event, however, was the run on Saturday, titled “the Gunslinger Poker Run and Outlaw GPS Shoot-Out.” With 20 classes of GPS competition, the combination of running the poker run while logging a certified GPS-recorded speed provided a new level of excitement and friendly competition.
