It's
Miami show time and, I'm proud to say, the first issue of
the fourth year of Poker Runs America magazine! By now,
our longtime subscribers know that, over the last 14 years,
we have been organizing our own series of poker runs, events
that are today recognized for their single-minded focus
on safety, fun and the sheer enjoyment of performance boating.
Our
dedicated and continuing commitment to producing poker runs
that contain these important elements has earned us the
support of a loyal fleet of poker runners as well as the
industry's leading boat builders and performance accessories
manufacturers who sponsor our events year after year.
That's
all the proof I need to know that we're on the right course.
I don't think I'm bragging when I say that Poker Runs America
magazine has played a major role in developing the incredible
growth of poker runs throughout the continent. Today, there
are over 100 poker runs, many of which we have featured
throughout the pages of our magazine. Thanks to this exposure,
the majority of these poker runs have grown in size - and,
I'm sure they will continue to attract more and more participants
over time.
Our
own events have grown, too. This year, for example, we have
added a second poker run in Sarasota, Florida. During the
past few months, our event organizers have been busy setting
up a venue of new events. One of these is the Lake County,
Hammond, Indiana Poker Run, which has already attracted
a sizeable number of entries. While we don't yet have the
exact date set, the Washington, North Carolina Poker Run,
headquartered at Reggie Fountain's state-of-the-art factory,
will take place for the second year in a row. And that's
just the start of our game plan.
This
year, we will launch our exciting new TV series featuring
the best of performance boating, hosted by championship
racer Melanie Taylor and filmed by the well-known and respected
Stu McDonald. Plus which, we're busy putting the final touches
on our long-awaited Poker Runs America Club.
I'll
have more news for you very shortly. In the meantime, I
would, once again, like to thank everyone for their continued
support.
